Arnold Aufruf

During our weekly Shabbat service, Stephen and Jenna will be called to the Torah in honor of their upcoming wedding. “Aufruf” is a Yiddish term for “calling up” (similar to “aliyah” in Hebrew). There is a tradition to shower the couple in sweets after the Torah reading as a symbol of the sweetness and blessing of their new life together.
